Lenny's Triple H Experience
My first Triple H experience was back in January, 2002. I live in New York, so when I heard there would be a RAW and a SMACKDOWN at Madison Square Garden back-to-back, I wanted to attend both. I bought a ticket for each show and this was before I knew Triple H was returning from his injury. I am a die-hard Triple H fan and I was extremely excited.
The night of RAW, which was January 7, 2002, I was ready. I had my Triple H gear and I bought some more once in the Garden. Being that I was going to two shows in two nights, I rented a hotel room across from the Garden, so I was set.
When RAW kicked off everyone was so pumped awaiting the return of THE GAME. The whole damn show, people were chanting and cheering for Triple H. I have never seen so many fans of one man in one place at the same time.
RAW was almost over and Triple H hadn't come out yet. All at once, the music hit "Time To Play The Game" and the place went absolutely crazy. When he came out, that ovation tripled and wouldn't stop. It was as loud as any ovation as I have ever heard. I went nuts. The ovation would not stop for a good 10-15 minutes until he spoke and it still wouldn't stop. It was amazing how much this man was missed and how much he was loved. When he beat the hell out of Kurt Angel and his music hit for him to leave, the ovation was once again loud. It was one of the wildest nights of my life but it wasn't over.
The next morning, I woke up to meet Triple H at WWFNY at 4:30am. When I arrived to WWFNY, I was one of the first ten people in line and it was freezing outside. I, along with other fanatics, talked about Triple H and wrestling for a good 6 hours before they began to let us in the building. It was nice and warm inside and evryone was cold but we still had to wait to meet Triple H for another hour. That hour went by slowly as I anticipated meeting my idol. When he walked in the building, everyone in line went nuts. He sat and started to sign his book. I was so nervous and I didn't know what to say. When it came time for me to meet Triple H, he was very nice and bigger than I imagined. He shook my hand with a nice strong grip and asked me what my name was. I told him my name and said it was great to have him back and that we missed him. He said thanks and shook my hand again, ! gave me my book, and then I moved on to get lunch at WWFNY, but it still wasn't over.
That night, I went back to the Garden for SMACKDOWN. The show was excellent and once again, Triple H came out at the end of the show. As on RAW, the place went nuts. It was sooooooooo loud. When he left and the show ended, I thought to myself that this was the greatest two days of my life and definetely the most exciting. I had memories that will last forever and it was all due to Triple H.
