World Wrestling Entertainment champion Triple H rocked Brooklyn Federal Court yesterday and knocked bodybuilder Nicole Bass' sexual harassment lawsuit. Paul Levesque - who plays the WWE role of a pompous aristocrat from Connecticut named Hunter Hearst Helmsley - was mobbed by autograph-seeking fans and courthouse employees as he waited to testify.
Bass, who is nearly as large as the 6-foot-4, 255-pound Levesque, has charged that he was a frequent intruder in the women's locker room in 1999 when he was dating WWE superstar Chyna.
His biceps and shoulders bulging out of his dark, custom-made suit, Levesque forcefully denied the allegations in a deep, gravelly voice.
"To me, it would be disrespectful to women," Levesque said. "I would knock on the door and ask for [the wrestler] Chyna to come out ... or I would ask if everyone was decent."
Questioned by Bass' lawyer about WWE employee Alicia Webb's claim that he once surprised her while she was going to the bathroom in the women's locker room, Levesque said he had no recollection of the incident.
Bass contends she is a victim of sexual harassment. But WWE lawyers counter she is a disgruntled employee who was a klutz in the ring - a point Levesque pile-drived home.
"Nicole had a look which the WWE was banking on, that being a physically imposing female that really turned heads," he said.
"But there wasn't a lot that Nicole could do in the ring and make it look good," he added. "She couldn't get the moves. She was not coordinated for it."
Levesque acknowledged he is dating the daughter of WWE boss Vince McMahon. Asked if their relationship was serious, he glanced at McMahon's wife, Linda, sitting at the defense table. "With her mother here, I consider it a serious relationship," he said.
