Triple H Vs Scott Steiner
World Heavyweight Championship
Royal Rumble- 1/19/03
Both men come down to the ring and then have a staredown. They start with
Steiner pushing HHH and HHH pushing him back. HHH hits some right hands on Steiner and backs him into the corner but Steiner hits him with a right and puts him down. HHH tried to kick Steiner but Steiner caught it and did a single leg takedown and then a Boston Crab. HHH however was able to get out quickly. HHH got up and drove Steiner's face into his knee but Steiner wasn't hurt and locked in a bearhug. He then went right into an overhead belly to belly suplex for 2. Freakzilla went for the Steiner Recliner but Ric Flair pulled The Game out of the ring to avoid it. Steiner went to attack the Nature Boy but was stopped by Earl Hebner. Back in, HHH knocked Steiner into the corner and choked him out with his boot. The ref got distracted by HHH as Flair choked Steiner with his jacket. He then choked Steiner onto the second rope. HHH whipped Steiner into the corner and went for a Pedigree but was slingshotted into the corner. Steiner hit another overhead belly to belly suplex and tried a powerslam but The Game reversed
into a neckbreaker for 2. Freakzilla came back with a double underhook
powerbomb for 2. HHH went to the top rope but was met with a superplex for 2. HHH got out of the ring, Flair grabbed the title and they started to leave but Steiner came and hit them with a double clothesline at the top of the entranceway. HHH tried to hit Steiner with the belt while Earl Hebner tried to keep Flair under control but was blocked and Steiner pushed it back into his face. HHH was cut open when he got up. Back in, Big Poppa Pump hit a belly to belly suplex and HHH then tried escaping through the crowd. Steiner beat him up in the crowd then put him back in the ring. He did some punches in front of HHH. Ric Flair said to stop the match because HHH was bleeding bad but Earl said no. HHH threw Hebner out of the ring and was almost DQ'd but the ref decided against it. Big Poppa Pump hit another belly to belly throw for 2. Flair distracted the ref as The Game low blowed Steiner and then cradled him for 2. HHH brought in his sledgehammer. He shoved Earl Hebner and hit Steiner's ribs. Steiner won by DQ but HHH
retained the Title. He tried to hit Steiner again but Steiner took it and nailed him 3 times with it. He locked in the Steiner Recliner and the refs couldn't get him off. Eric Bischoff finally begged Steiner to let go and he did.
